Hi.

I love coffee, live music, and exploring neighborhoods on weekends in New York.

A Break from New York City

A Break from New York City

Woodstock

You can drive two hours north of New York City and be transported to Woodstock, a small town in upstate New York, far from the cacophony of city life. My husband and I spent a few days here, exploring this town of towering trees, occasional crossing deers, quirky shops and beautiful landscape.

I love how this shot captures the peace and quiet of this neighborhood.

Driving around here was absolutely beautiful. It was a little challenging not to be distracted as we drove through valleys into the woods. It was peacefulβ€”sometimes eerily quiet, as the crisp fall scent hung in the air.

We visited the town's main street daily, where we walked around and enjoyed breakfast every morning. A little strip of local restaurants and shops lined the street including vintage stores, cafes, a small art house theater set in an old church, meat shops, and more.

What made this trip even better was our Airbnb, a cute house in the middle of the woods, decorated with international trinkets, filled with nice little amenities and cozy furniture.

Where to go:

Shindig
1 Tinker Street

A little friendly restaurant with good food.

Oriole 9
17 Tinker Street

Bread Alone
22 Mill Hill Rd

Nice cafe with fresh bread daily.

β€” BONUS β€”

A song to set the mood for an upstate roadtrip.
